The TMA Youth Council was established in 2016 with 12 Hillsborough County high school students. The Youth Council spends the summer learning about careers in museums, meeting museum professionals, and creating dynamic programming for their peers in an extensive Summer Session. They meet regularly throughout the year to execute programs here at the Museum.

The Youth Council is open to students enrolled in Hillsborough County public, private, and charter high schools. Students must be able to attend at least 80% of the summer session, regularly attend Youth Council meetings, and events. The Youth Council is a year round commitment, with the potential to be renewed annually after being accepted into the program. Places are limited. Current Youth Council members will interview candidates. Applications are now closed and will reopen spring 2020.
