Art draws all humanity together
Art links us across time, place, and experience
The Tampa Museum of Art is a welcoming space where everyone can connect through creativity, explore new perspectives, and find inspiration. As an arts leader in Tampa Bay and Florida, we strive to showcase and honor the richness and variety of artistic expression while fostering an environment where all visitors feel a sense of belonging.
This commitment extends beyond access. We actively develop exhibitions and programs that reflect the breadth of human experience, ensuring that art remains a powerful tool for learning, reflection, and connection. Art tells the story of all of us.

Expanding Artistic Perspectives

As part of the Museum’s long-term vision, we are broadening the scope of the works on display and the stories we share. Our goal is to feature a wide range of artistic voices, bringing attention to historical and contemporary creative expressions that have shaped cultures around the world.
The expansion of our galleries through the Centennial Renovation and Expansion project provides an opportunity to highlight a broader array of artists and artistic traditions. Recent exhibitions have included works from around the world, regional contemporary artists, and groundbreaking installations that invite deeper engagement with art’s role in society. Additionally, the Museum continues adding to its permanent collection of works that reflect our commitment to sharing cultural stories.
By working with community leaders, cultural organizations, and educational institutions, we continue to create opportunities for artistic engagement that reflect the vibrant and dynamic backgrounds of our community.
Education and Outreach
The Museum’s education programs are designed to ensure that art is accessible to learners of all ages and backgrounds. With the completion of the Vinik Family Education Center, we are expanding year-round programming to provide even more opportunities for students, teachers, and community members to engage with the arts.
Through partnerships with local organizations, we also offer art programs that support individuals and families facing challenges such as homelessness, trauma recovery, and cognitive disorders. These initiatives emphasize the power of creativity as a means of expression, healing, and personal growth.

Leadership and Community Involvement
A strong museum reflects the voices and experiences of its community. We are committed to ensuring that our leadership, staff, and volunteers reflect Hillsborough County, bringing a wide range of perspectives and expertise to our work. Through advisory groups and collaborations, we continue to shape the Museum’s direction in ways that resonate with our community’s evolving needs and interests.
At the Tampa Museum of Art, we believe art is for everyone. Through exhibitions, education, and engagement, we strive to create a space where all visitors feel valued and inspired.
