Join us every day at noon for a creative moment to temporarily suspend the stress of self-isolation. Each day we’ll post a fun and easy art activity that you can do in 20 minutes or less. TMA Art Recess uses things that you have around the home or that you can find in nature. TMA invites the public to take an Art Recess every day to change their daily routine and exercise their creative thinking with a different activity each day.

Share your #TMAArtRecess creation with us through your favorite social media outlet! We’d love to see what you create.

Did you miss any of our #TMAArtRecess activities? Each week we’ll post a recap of some of the projects in both English and Spanish.

Week 1:

Download the Instructions and Worksheets

Download the instructions and worksheets to create your own Exquisite Corpse Puzzle. Exquisite Corpse is a game played by the Surrealists artists as a way to create images as a group. The game involves passing around sheets of paper with each person contributing parts of what would become a fantastical creature or object. Each part of the creature or object would be hidden from the next person working on the object. The result can be silly, scary, and fun!

ICOM Coloring Sheet Preview

Download the coloring sheet PDF

Download this coloring sheet to celebrate International Museum Day 2020! This year’s theme is Museums for Equality: Diversity and Inclusion. The coloring sheet is available for people worldwide to imagine how the figures represented on the poster are both similar and diverse. For today’s project, adapt the poster in any way you see fit — color it, paint it, add glitter, or glue textures to make it three-dimensional. The objective is to have as many different versions as possible to represent the vast diversity of people that make up the communities of museums! When your masterpiece is finished, don’t forget to snap a picture, upload it to your social media, and tag @TampaMuseumofArt and @ICOMofficiel. We will share the best ones!
