Art-Therapy-Informed Programs Policies

The art-therapy-informed programs at the Tampa Museum of Art, including Art Space and Connections, are designed to promote general well-being, self-expression, and community engagement through art viewing and guided discussions. While topics related to mental health may be explored, this program is not a substitute for professional mental health care, diagnosis, or treatment.

Participants are encouraged to speak with a licensed mental health professional for personalized support. The facilitators of this session are not providing clinical therapy unless explicitly stated and qualified to do so.

Some artworks or conversations may include sensitive topics that could be emotionally activating. Please engage at your own pace and step away if you need a break. Your well-being is our priority.

By participating in programs such as Art Space and Connections, you acknowledge that your involvement is voluntary and that you are responsible for your own mental and emotional well-being.

If you are in crisis or need immediate support, please contact a mental health professional or emergency services in your area.

Confidentiality: We are committed to creating a respectful and supportive space. Participants are encouraged to treat all shared experiences and personal reflections as confidential. However, as this is a group/public setting, confidentiality cannot be fully guaranteed. We ask all participants to be mindful and respectful of one another’s privacy.
