Prepare to werk, slay, and strike a pose at the Tampa Museum of Art’s Pride & Passion: Vogue, a Glamour Ball, inspired by the allure of the golden age of Hollywood and the effervescence of the LGBTQ+ ballroom culture.
Join us for an elegant evening full of lively music, eye-catching dance floor performances, mouth-watering treats from local restaurants, and a premium open bar.
Now in its 16th year as a favorite “must-attend” Downtown Tampa event, Pride & Passion celebrates Tampa Bay’s diversity and the contributions of the LGBTQ+ community to arts and culture. It’s befitting that the money raised for this signature fundraiser supports programs at the Tampa Museum of Art that reduce barriers to admission, create safe places for people to experience the arts, and celebrate local talent.
Pride & Passion: Vogue co-chairs Marvin Meeks and Lillian Chor Florin
The LGBTQ+ community plays a significant role in the artistic and cultural fabric of Tampa Bay and around the world. The Tampa Museum of Art holds Pride & Passion each year in collaboration with the LGBTQ+ community and its allies to be vocal in celebrating diversity, equity and inclusion. When Pride & Passion started in 2006, TMA was one of the only organizations in the Tampa Bay area that was not an exclusively dedicated LGBTQ+ entity to hold such a community awareness program. We believe that the values that Pride & Passion represents are important now more than ever in preserving past victories and making new strides towards equity and equality.
The Tampa Museum of Art works closely with METRO Inclusive Health to provide supportive spaces, museum tours and lead art making sessions for LGBTQ+ youth.
Without fundraisers like Pride & Passion, a museum ticket would cost around $80, instead of $20! Pride & Passion plays a big part in helping share the arts with our community.
Funds raised from Pride & Passion even help pay the operational costs of keeping the museum up and running. (Like keeping the lights on!)
Teen Open Studio is a free program offered by TMA that gives teens in grades 6-12 the opportunity to create alongside local working artists and learn about careers in the arts. (You guessed it… Funds from Pride & Passion make this free program possible too!)
Funds raised from Pride & Passion also help provide free online education programs like Start With and Art Spot Online! With downloadable lesson plans for teachers and parents, these videos help share arts education with our community.
