Commemorate the Tampa Museum of Art’s third annual Juneteenth Cultural Celebration with an exciting day at the museum full of engaging activities for the whole family!
On Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 10 am to 5 pm, the Tampa Museum of Art offers free admission to its lineup of family-friendly programs in its newly expanded galleries and new Vinik Family Education Center. Prepare for a lively community celebration of this holiday, also known as Freedom Day, with art-making activities, live music and performances, family portraits, local vendors, and more!

Don’t miss these events throughout the day:
10 am – 12 pm: Music with WMNF’s DJ Spaceship
10 am – 3 pm: Creator Showcase featuring local creatives Bubble Studios, Caribbean Quenched, Debbie’s Artistry, Debbie Rodriguez, TrippleRStudios, Unique Necessity
10 am – 4:30 pm: Family Portraits presented in collaboration with the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts. *First come, first served
11 am, 1 pm & 3 pm: Gallery Tours highlighting the many Black and African American artists on view at the Tampa Museum of Art
12 pm: Welcome remarks followed by a reading of the Emancipation Proclamation by Saniya Gay, our nation’s first Miss Juneteenth Queen.
12:30 pm: Kuumba Dance Performance
2 pm: Harrison Jazz Ensemble Performance
3 pm – 5 pm: Music with WMNF’s DJ Spaceship
All Day: Enjoy a variety of drop-in art-making activities for all ages, as well as a food truck and the opportunity to learn about wonderful cultural and community resources from our event partners.
