Enjoy exploring the museum in a calm\, low-crowd environment with sensory-friendly tools and supportive assistance available. You can borrow noise-canceling headphones or other sensory items from the front desk as well – just ask! This event offers children and their families a chance to connect with others who share similar experiences\, while enjoying all the museum has to offer. \nFree admission for Art on the Spectrum is made possible thanks to: The Autism License Plate Fund and The Autism Services Grants Council. \nArt on the Spectrum is hosted by the Tampa Museum of Art in partnership with the Center for Autism & Related Disabilities (C.A.R.D.) at the University of South Florida. \nQuestions? SUMMARY:Surface and Fire! | A Jun Kaneko Inspired Raku Firing
DESCRIPTION:Wednesdays\, Jun 3 – 24 | 6:00 –9:00 PM (4 classes)\nAges 18+ | Beginner-Intermediate Level \nThis four-week workshop immerses students in the bold forms and graphic surfaces that define Jun Kaneko’s iconic ceramic practice\, with participants creating sculptural pieces no larger than eight inches cubed. \nOver the first three weeks at the Tampa Museum of Art\, students will construct smaller-scale works and apply raku-specific glazes with an emphasis on mark-making\, pattern\, and architectural presence. The workshop culminates in an exhilarating fourth week at the City of Tampa Golding Art Studio\, where participants will fire their pieces in the raku tradition\, pulling glowing ceramics from the kiln and witnessing the dramatic transformations of post-fire reduction. \nDrawing inspiration from Kaneko’s monumental approach while working at an accessible scale\, this course invites both beginners and experienced ceramicists to explore the dynamic relationship between form\, surface\, and fire. \nClass location Schedule: \nJune 3\, 10 and 17 take place at Tampa Museum of Art Vinik Family Education Center \nJune 24 class takes place at the City of Tampa Golding Art Studio at Shanna and Bryan Glazer JCC \nAll Supplies and Clay included. \nRegister Now

DESCRIPTION:Every Thursday from 4 to 8 pm\, the Tampa Museum of Art offers Art on the House where admission prices change to pay-as-you-will\, and visitors choose whatever admission price they want to pay. Bring the family and celebrate 100 years of art in Tampa with exhibitions that emphasize ancient\, modern\, and contemporary art. \nBeginning at 4 pm every Thursday\, walk up to the Welcome Desk and tell the Visitor Experience and Engagement Representatives the admission price you chose to pay for your visit to the museum. Any donation amount is welcome.
