This NextGen event includes a chat with Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art Joanna Robotham\, private gallery access to the Museum’s first ever multi-media exhibition Jennifer Steinkamp: Madame Curie\, a flower bouquet-making station inspired by the mesmerizing botanical animation of the exhibit\, and a lively reception with a complimentary signature cocktail\, light bites\, and a cash bar.* \nDoors open at 5:30pm for a reception with refreshments\, mingling\, and flower arranging. The curator’s chat begins at 6:00pm. DESCRIPTION:Please note that the program will be in Spanish. \nRecorrido con la Curadora: Bajo el Hechizo De la Palma – la Colección Rice de Arte Cubano\nLa curadora de la exposición\, Gabriela (Gaby) Azcuy ofrecerá una visita guiada por Bajo el hechizo de la palma: La Colección Rice de Arte Cubano\, en la que abordará el proceso de selección de obras y su articulación en las secciones temáticas. La conversación incluirá reflexiones sobre la evolución de la colección y la colaboración con los coleccionistas. A través de su análisis\, los asistentes podrán profundizar en los conceptos curatoriales y el contexto artístico de la muestra. \nGabriela Azcuy (La Habana\, Cuba\, 1989) curadora de arte\, gestora cultural y editora. Licenciada en Historia del Arte y Máster en Estudios Curatoriales. En 2016\, Azcuy comenzó su labor como curadora para la organización sin fines de lucro The Cuban Arts Group y The Rice Collection\, donde actualmente se desempeña como curadora principal. \nGabriela Azcuy (b. Havana\, Cuba\, 1989) is an art curator\, cultural manager\, editor\, and lecturer. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in art history and a Master’s in curatorial studies.
