Sign up for a single class to continue working and add the finishing touches on projects you’ve started in one of our other classes. Sign up for multiple classes to choose your own adventure in hand-building or wheel thrown ceramics. Work with your instructor to plan out your projects and make them a reality. Some experience with clay is recommended. \nArt+ Members enjoy a 20% discount on TMA Studio Art classes.\nJoin now\nAlready a member? DESCRIPTION:Adults 18+ | Beginner Level |\nSundays 1:00 – 3:00 PM\nJan 26\nFeb 23\nMar 30\nApr 27 \nGet outside and make some art in the landscape of Tampa Bay’s gorgeous scenery in this Plein Air watercolor painting course. This workshop will meet in one of Tampa Bay’s picturesque parks. Soak in the beauty and inspiration of nature as you create art at scenic locales throughout Hillsborough. \nThis course will meet in a local park and will require moving about the park to find your spot to paint. Bringing a lightweight camping chair\, blanket\, or other items that make your time in the park more comfortable is encouraged. \nSome watercolors and paper materials will be provided. Students are encouraged to bring their own supplies\, hand towels\, and water bottles for cleaning brushes. \nTMA offsite programs are supported\, in part\, by the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners \nArt+ Members enjoy a 20% discount on TMA Studio Art classes.\nJoin now\nAlready a member? DESCRIPTION:Antiquities Lecture: Discovering the Etruscans \nDive into the fascinating world of the Etruscans\, an ancient civilization that flourished in Italy for over a millennium yet remains largely unknown to many. This lecture will explore their unique contributions to art and architecture\, uncover the mysteries of their non-Indo-European language\, and highlight how modern archaeological advancements have deepened our understanding of their influence on both ancient Romans and modern Italians. Join us to discover why the Etruscans are more than just a footnote in history. \nLectures are offered free with the cost of daily admission: \n\nArt+ Museum Members: Free\nNot-Yet-Members: $25\nCollege Students: Free\n\nRSVP for this program \n Richard Daniel De Puma is the F. Wendell Miller Professor Emeritus of Classical Art and Archaeology\, University of Iowa. Throughout his long career and into his “retirement\,” Dr. De Puma has combined archaeological excavations with curatorial work at various international renowned museums. He has done field work in Turkey\, Tunisia\, India and Italy. Specifically\, he was co-director with Paolo Togninelli of the excavations at Crustumerium\, a Latin settlement just north of Rome. \nDe Puma was the Lead Curatorial Consultant for the permanent display of the Etruscan collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art that opened in 2007\, and the accompanying catalog Etruscan Art in the Metropolitan Museum of Art (2013). He is currently working on the exhibition and catalogue for “The Etruscans: From the Heart of Ancient Italy\,” which is set to open at San Francisco’s Legion of Honor Museum in May 2026. De Puma has lectured throughout North America\, Western Europe and New Zealand. He has been the editor of several journals and was on the Advisory Boards of the American Journal of Archaeology and Etruscan and Italic Studies.
