The Tampa Museum of Art’s popular midday program continues online. In this presentation, Joanna Robotham, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, explores the influence of visual culture and art history on Jasper Johns’ art. From his early prints made in the 1960s to recent work, Johns has drawn inspiration from artists such as Pablo Picasso and Marcel Duchamp, to contemporary painters such as Francis Bacon. Robotham will highlight a select group of works featured in the exhibition An Art of Changes: Jasper Johns Prints, 1960-2018 for this Thirty on Thursday discussion.
