Visit the Tampa Museum of Art for an afternoon of performances by Skyway artists Cassia Kite, Jaime Aelavanthara and Amanda Sieradzki, and Wendy Babcox. Kite’s “Soundstitching” portrait of avant-garde composer Francis Schwartz will be performed by Homegrown New Music Ensemble. Kite will accompany the performance and will Soundstitch alongside the musicians. Dance accompanies Aelavanthara and Sieradzki’s large-scale cyanotypes on view in Skyway. Their choreography, inspired by an original composition by Homegrown New Music Ensemble, a collective of local musicians and composers, will explore the beauty and fragility of local ecosystems. Babcox and Noisy Womxn will host an outdoor drumming session on the Museum’s South Terrace. The seven handcrafted snare drums she created for Skyway will be incorporated into the performance.
