Skyway 2024 Opening Celebration

Join us for the Tampa Museum of Art’s opening celebration and artist reception of Skyway 2024: A Contemporary Collaboration. The evening will feature an insightful panel discussion with the artists exhibited at the Tampa Museum of Art’s iteration of this collaborative triennial exhibition.
Enjoy an inspiring night celebrating local artists and engaging conversation! Doors open at 5 pm, allowing guests to enjoy delicious heavy hors d’oeuvres and desserts from local favorites like Melting Pot Social, SaltBlock, and Puff & Stuff, along with a complimentary signature drink and a cash bar.* Guests are invited to savor their refreshments on the first floor before exploring the Skyway 2024 exhibition in the second-floor galleries. The artist panel discussion and remarks will commence at 6 pm in the Morsani Atrium.
Your participation in this celebration directly supports the Skyway 2024 exhibition and the associated educational programs at the Tampa Museum of Art, helping to foster a vibrant art community.
The highly anticipated Skyway 2024 is a celebration of artistic practices in the Tampa Bay region, as it is a collaboration between five institutions: the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg; The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, Sarasota; the Sarasota Art Museum of Ringling College of Art and Design; the Tampa Museum of Art; and the University of South Florida Contemporary Art Museum, Tampa. Working together, curators from each institution offer context for the diversity of art being made in Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, and Sarasota counties.
Skyway 2024 embodies the theme of boundless exploration and unity, reflecting the limitless potential of artistic expression in the region. This collaborative effort will feature a diverse array of contemporary art, including paintings, sculptures, installations, and multimedia presentations by 63 artists and art collectives living and working in the Tampa Bay area.
