Centennial Celebration: Cheers for 100 Years

2020 isn’t canceled, and neither is the Tampa Museum of Art’s Centennial Celebration! As we social distance together, the Tampa Museum of Art invites you to a virtual celebration to honor the legacy of art and culture built throughout the years by our community of visionaries, leaders, supporters, educators, volunteers, and staff.

This November marks 100 years since a passionate community of people like you came together to inaugurate the first of hundreds of exhibitions. As the Museum and the Tampa Bay area grew, the artwork on view inspired thousands of art education programs, school tours, community outreach programs, and more. Your support has been essential to the Museum’s success year after year. In 2020 your help is needed more than ever to ensure this legacy continues to enrich our community for generations to come.

Join us on November 7th for the Tampa Museum of Art’s Centennial Celebration to cheer for 100 years. Enjoy a fun evening of virtual entertainment, with performances, stories, interviews, and reflections on a century of accomplishments. Throughout the evening, participate in our chance drawings and live auction. Presented by PNC Bank, all proceeds support the innovative exhibitions and art education programs that the Tampa Museum of Art brings our growing and diverse community.

Also, at this Centennial Celebration, the Tampa Museum of Art honors the women of the History Project Committee: Pat Carter, Margo Eure, Joan Jennewein (in memoriam), Lee Leavengood, Hatty Lenfestey, Lois Nixon, Sara Richter, Barbara Romano, and Arline Verkauf. This volunteer group of donors and supporters has spent a lifetime helping the Museum evolve from a small local arts organization to the City of Tampa’s preeminent art museum.

The Art of Cocktailing with Geoffrey Zakarian

Calling all thirsty patrons! Geoffrey Zakarian will host you virtually at his home bar to learn how to properly make 3 of his favorite signature cocktails to include the Perfect Grapefruit Margarita, a Parisian Aperol Spritz, and The Lambs Club’s Gold Rush. To fully round out the home bar experience, the winner will receive a case of Zakarian’s curated wine collection from WineInsiders.com delivered to their home along with a Zakarian Wine Opener, Aerator, and Champagne Sealer.

Details: A Zoom link will be sent to the winner for participation in the virtual demo, and it may be shared with 4 additional households of the winner’s choosing. This painting, A Golden Horizon, 2020, is a vantage point overlooking a collection of past, present, and future memories. The perspective of the painting is where we stand on this celestial sphere of a planet. The “golden horizon” is the visible point where I see a positive, beautiful ray of light illuminating a new world. Love is where the earth curves and holds us together. In black and gold, the elements solidify and connect.

Experience our engaging small classes taught by professional teaching artists from the Tampa Bay community.

The TMA Studio pass offers unlimited registrations for one person in TMA Studio’s engaging classes for the 2021 calendar year.
