Faculty

Jessica Barber has a BFA degree with a concentration in Printmaking from the University of South Florida. She has been diligently working in a classroom environment alongside educators and students at Hillsborough Community College campus in Ybor City since 2015. She has also been apart of Cunsthaus at Tempus Projects for the last two years, which is an artist collective established to provide engaging cultural programs and experiences through a collaborative curatorial perspective in the Seminole Heights area of Tampa.

Angela Dickerson has a B.A. in Fine Arts from USF. She began working in metals in 2007 with a local mentor. She would describe her work as a merging of industrial and organic. Mixed metals, found objects and enamels have made there way into her repertoire. You can view examples of her work at www.angelasorganicas.etsy.com.

Jenal Dolson was based in Toronto, Canada for the past eight years before relocating to Tampa to begin her MFA at USF. She completed her Honours B.A. at the University of Waterloo in Painting (’07) and has recently exhibited at Quaid, CUNSTHAUS, and Tempus Project Space. She is a grant recipient from the Ontario Arts Council and the Toronto Arts Council and is part of a group show this summer in Hamilton, Ontario Canada, at The Assembly Gallery. Her work calls upon construction and facade, exploring the behavior of mark making and installation. Pairing hand made wooden objects with figurative forms found within her paintings creates a tension between expectations of a location and material purpose.

Deb Dutton was born and raised in Zimbabwe, and has lived in the Tampa Bay area for 20 years. She  graduated from Faulkner University, and has studied with a master calligrapher. Deb has 14 years of teaching experience, and she has been working with a range of calligraphic styles and approaches for over 50 years.

Susan Fredricks is a multimedia artist who pushes the boundaries of process both personally and professionally in order to facilitate discovery. A Tampa native, Susan received her BFA in printmaking from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon. She has interned at Graphicstudio in Tampa, Florida and has taught on both coasts of the US for over a decade.

Olivia Thornton is a professional, mixed media visual artist and a K-12 certified art teacher from SC. Since moving to FL in June 2016, Olivia has had her work on display throughout Florida, at the following venues: the Art Center Manatee, Carrollwood Cultural Center, various Fringe Creatives galleries, Manatee County Public Library, and also internationally at the Toucan Rescue Ranch in Costa Rica. Aside from being an artist and an art advocate within her community, Olivia teaches throughout the Tampa Bay and Grand Strand (SC) areas. Visit Olivia’s art website.

Jamie Perkins has a Bachelor in Fine Art from the University of Tampa and an MAED from the University of Phoenix. Jamie began her career as an Art Educator for Hillsborough County Schools in 2005. Prior to teaching Art for the county Jamie worked as an Architectural draftsman and then moved on to work as a Scenic and Prop Designer for an event company based in Orlando and as a Scenic and Graphic Designer for Busch Gardens Tampa. Jamie has also taught art Art Camps for the Florida Aquarium and Michael’s Arts and Crafts.
