FIVE BY FIVE to be held October 16, 2015

Posted on: September 4th, 2015

FIVE by FIVE is the Arts Council’s biggest night of the year and celebrates all that’s fantastic about the arts. Performances from local professionals in theatre, dance, music and spoken word
are showcased as well as an anonymous exhibition from artists worldwide. The Arts Council’s Artist Advisory Committee created FIVE by FIVE with several goals in mind — to give all artists an additional opportunity to showcase their work and to raise money that would support the Arts Council’s individual artist programs by offering original artwork for an affordable amount. It was felt this would also enable those who might not usually buy original art to start collecting and thereby benefit artists beyond this one-night event. Buyers choose the work they purchase based on its appeal only and not whether the artist is known or unknown since all work is shown anonymously. The event raises money for the individual artist programs – grants and workshops – of the Arts Council.

Nearly 900 arts enthusiasts attended our 2014 event and visual art sales raised more than $13,000 for the Arts Council’s individual artist grants and workshop programs. Small art for a BIG cause!  Join us on Friday October 16th at the Tampa Museum of Art for this wonderful event.

FIVE by FIVE is an after-hours event held at the Tampa Museum of Art that celebrates art, music, and entertainment. Attendance has steadily grown for FIVE by FIVE with nearly 900 attending in 2014. More than 650 pieces of art and outstanding performances from artists in theatre, dance, music, and spoken word were featured last year.

Event Location: Tampa Museum of Art, Tampa, FL

Admission: $10; members of the Museum FREE.

Exhibition: Work from professional and emerging artists displayed anonymously and available for $25 each. Artists have signed their work on the back. Artist’s name is revealed after purchase. The FIVE by FIVE art exhibition was created by the Arts Council of Hillsborough County’s Artists Advisory Committee as a way to raise funds for artist grants and individual artist programs offered by the Arts Council.

Proceeds benefit individual artist grants and workshops from the Arts Council of Hillsborough County.
